Aeon to reduce prices on 145 TopValu items across Japan
Aeon has announced a temporary price reduction on 145 TopValu brand items across approximately 10,000 stores nationwide, including Aeon, Aeon Style, and MaxValu, starting September 2. The discounts, which range from approximately 2% to 40%, will apply to various daily necessities, food items, and household goods for periods lasting between three and 29 days.
Key items included in the price cuts are 1kg of spaghetti, Tasmanian beef hamburgers, and recycled toilet paper. Following the price reductions, Aeon plans to launch a volume-increase sale starting September 16, featuring 115 items such as frozen broccoli and shrimp fry.
TopValu President Mitsuko Tsuchiya stated that the selection focuses on popular, essential products that are difficult for consumers to substitute. To maintain these prices despite rising raw material, logistics, and energy costs, the company is implementing cost-cutting measures in packaging and product design without compromising quality.
