FC AshantiGold 04 dismisses head coach Karim Zito

FC AshantiGold 04 has dismissed head coach Abdul Karim Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere, and goalkeeper trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect. The decision was announced by the Obuasi-based club following a consultative meeting of its Interim Management Committee.

Club CEO Edward Kwasi Akuoko cited poor away performance and reports of internal friction within the technical team as contributing factors to the dismissal. Despite the coaching changes, Zito had previously guided the club to promotion from the Division One League to the Ghana Premier League.

The dismissal follows a 1–1 draw against Asante Kotoko in the Ashanti Derby. AshantiGold currently sits 11th in the league standings with 11 points after eight matches. A caretaker coach has been appointed to manage the team until a permanent head coach and technical director are named.
