FC AshantiGold 04 coaching changes

Overview

Ahead of a Ghana Premier League match against former club Asante Kotoko, FC AshantiGold 04 head coach Karim Zito dismissed suggestions that he was seeking revenge, stating, “I am not going to seek revenge against Kotoko. It is a game, and just as I want to win, they also want to beat us.”

Following a 1–1 draw in the Ashanti Derby against Asante Kotoko, FC AshantiGold 04 dismissed Zito, assistant coach Ernest Okyere, and goalkeeper trainer Robert Dabo with immediate effect. Club CEO Edward Kwasi Akuoko attributed the decision to poor away performance and reports of internal friction within the technical team. A caretaker coach has been appointed to lead the team.
