Asiago DOP Prodotto della Montagna marks 20 years of growth

The Asiago DOP Prodotto della Montagna is celebrating 20 years since its introduction into the production regulations. This designation was established to promote the supply chain linked to origins above 600 meters in altitude, strengthen economic sustainability, and protect local biodiversity and territory.

Production data indicates significant growth. In the first half of 2026, production increased by 7.5% compared to the same period in 2025. This follows a decade-long upward trend where production volumes rose from 52,802 wheels in 2015 to 68,555 in 2025, representing a 29.8% increase.

The designation applies to Fresh and Aged varieties produced exclusively above 600 meters by mountain huts and dairies located between the Veneto and Trentino regions. Fiorenzo Rigoni, president of the Consorzio di Tutela Formaggio Asiago, noted that these results demonstrate the effectiveness of long-term planning.
