Brazil pharmaceutical sales growth slows to 5.9% in August
Brazilian pharmaceutical market sales grew 5.9% year-on-year in August, representing a deceleration from the 9.5% growth recorded in July. This slowdown was driven by reduced growth in both generic and brand-name medications.
Excluding GLP-1 drugs, the growth rate was even lower at 5.5%. Bradesco BBI maintained a positive outlook for the sector, highlighting RD Saúde (RADL3) as a top choice due to its resilient growth and defensive business model. However, analysts noted slightly negative valuations for other listed pharmacy chains.
