Cloud adoption and AI drive shift toward identity-based security
The rapid adoption of multi-cloud environments and artificial intelligence is fundamentally altering enterprise networking and security requirements. As organizations distribute workloads across multiple hyperscalers, private clouds, and on-premises environments to meet performance and regulatory needs, traditional perimeter-based security is becoming insufficient.
This shift has moved the primary security focus from network boundaries to identity. With enterprise data increasingly stored in the cloud, identity and access management (IAM) has emerged as a critical battleground. Consequently, investment in IAM is growing at approximately 15 percent annually, with the market projected to reach between US$27.5 billion and US$39.5 billion by 2029. This evolution is driving the adoption of Zero Trust principles and identity threat detection and response (ITDR) tools to combat unauthorized use of authorized access.
