Ferrari Luce meets 2026 sales target in two months
Ferrari’s first fully electric model, the Luce, was unveiled in May 2026 with a base price of about €550,000 (≈ $600,000) and an internal goal of selling just under 500 units that year. Within roughly two months – by early July – the company had already filled the entire 2026 allocation, a milestone the Financial Times attributes to unusually strong demand from China, which is estimated to account for about 20 % of orders. The rapid uptake came despite a wave of design criticism; the car’s futuristic shape, created by former Apple designer Jony Ive and the LoveFrom studio, was denounced by former chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo and sparked an 8 % drop in Ferrari’s share price on the Milan exchange after the launch. Ferrari has not issued an official comment and says deliveries are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2026. The Luce’s success is seen as a test of the brand’s ability to attract a new generation of affluent buyers in markets such as China and the United States while preserving its heritage.
