German border police arrest Dutch woman and Romanian man in Bunde

On 30 July 2026 German border police conducting temporary checks on the Germany‑Netherlands frontier in Bunde detained two individuals with outstanding arrest warrants. At 16:45 a 24‑year‑old Dutch woman traveling as a passenger on a replacement train bus was identified as wanted for a prior conviction of negligence‑related injury. She had avoided a short prison term by paying a €1,350 fine, but the arrest warrant remained active, leading to her detention.

At about 18:30 a 46‑year‑old Romanian man riding as a passenger on an international coach from the Netherlands was also found to have an outstanding warrant for a previous immigration law violation. Unable to pay the €3,000 fine that could have averted custody, he was transferred to a nearby prison to serve the sentence.
