Hungarians use AI for financial matters at high rates
An international representative study conducted by Ipsos on behalf of OVB reveals that 48 percent of Hungarians use artificial intelligence at least occasionally for financial or insurance-related matters. This usage rate places Hungary second only to the Czech Republic (49 percent) among the five countries surveyed, surpassing Spain (47 percent), Italy (43 percent), and Germany (37 percent).
Among Hungarians aged 18-34, AI adoption is even higher, with 68 percent using it for financial or insurance queries. Common uses include analyzing personal finances (38 percent), improving understanding of financial topics (34 percent), planning (31 percent), and exploring financial products (29 percent).
Despite the increasing role of technology in financial literacy, a majority of Hungarian respondents still prefer human expertise for significant financial decisions. Specifically, 64 percent would turn to a person for major decisions, while only 5 percent would prefer to rely on AI.
