Indonesia detains Dutch woman and deports Thai national for visa violations

Indonesian immigration authorities have taken action against two foreign nationals for violating local laws and visa conditions.

A 67-year-old Dutch woman, identified by the initials FMMM, was detained in Bali after allegedly causing disturbances at a hotel and later at the Denpasar Immigration Office. Officials stated she was transferred to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Centre in Jimbaran while they determine further measures. She is suspected of violating Article 75(1) of Indonesia’s Immigration Law, which pertains to foreign nationals considered a threat to public security or order. Authorities plan to coordinate with representatives from the Netherlands regarding the case.

In Jakarta, a Thai woman identified as PD has been ordered deported after being found conducting paid beauty massage and face-lifting classes. Immigration officers discovered that her activities did not align with the visa-free visit scheme under which she entered the country. The North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office stated that the unauthorized commercial activities prompted the administrative measure and subsequent detention pending her departure to Thailand.
