Indonesia pursues digital infrastructure integration and child safety measures

Indonesia is exploring ways to strengthen its national digital transformation by studying India’s experience in building integrated public digital infrastructure. During an audience with Indian Ambassador Sandeep Chakravorty, Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria stated that the government aims to build a digital “rail” to seamlessly integrate various public services, including identification, payment, and data exchange systems.

Separately, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid met with representatives from the LEGO Group to discuss child safety in digital spaces. The Minister emphasized the importance of designing digital services with safety in mind from the outset, specifically regarding Government Regulation Number 17 of 2025. She advocated for a model where access to interactive features requires parental consent and emphasized the need for parental education through direct experience in managing children’s digital interactions.
