Ghana Premier League clubs intensify recruitment for 2026/27 season

Ghanaian football clubs are actively restructuring their squads ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. Asante Kotoko has undertaken a significant recruitment drive, signing six players from across Africa, including Moroccan goalkeeper Abdel Wadie Mourad and Ivorian defender Koffi Marius Ange Bini. In administrative news, former GFA vice-president George Afriyie has called for increased competition within the Ghana Football Association, suggesting that former Black Stars captain André Ayew should consider a bid for the presidency. Meanwhile, the MTN Elite U-19 Boys Championship is preparing to launch at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, focusing on youth development and player discipline.
