Asante Kotoko suffers loss to Aduana FC and coaching departure

Aduana FC secured a 2-0 victory over Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, marking Kotoko’s first loss of the Ghana Premier League season. Despite playing with 10 men for over 50 minutes after Raymond Agyemang was sent off, Aduana scored through Stephen Amankona and Seidu Saana.

The match resulted in significant fallout for Asante Kotoko. Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim is expected to undergo surgery and will be sidelined for approximately two months following an injury sustained during the game. Additionally, head coach Eric Tinkler has departed the club. While the club initially cited personal reasons for his release, Tinkler later revealed that a lucrative offer from a South African club influenced his decision to resign.

Following the match, Aduana FC head coach Samuel Boadu faces potential disciplinary action from the Ghana Football Association for making provocative gestures toward Kotoko supporters. Meanwhile, the King of Dormaa celebrated the victory by gifting cash to local children.
