Karela United defeats Hearts of Oak to end unbeaten run

Karela United ended Hearts of Oak’s unbeaten start to the 2026-27 Ghana Premier League season with a 1-0 victory at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale. Mohammed Zaidan secured the win for the hosts by scoring in the 88th minute, dribbling through the defense to slot a low finish past the goalkeeper.

Despite the loss, Hearts of Oak had maintained a strong defensive record leading up to the match, including three clean sheets in their first three games. Karela United, who had previously suffered a defeat to Aduana FC, used the victory to boost their campaign and secure three points at home.

Hearts of Oak coach Nebojsa Kapor had previously emphasized the need for improved discipline and tactical positioning ahead of the fixture, seeking to maintain the momentum from their early-season wins.
