Moldova begins military parade rehearsals for Independence Day
Military personnel and officials in Moldova have begun intensive preparations and rehearsals for the Independence Day parade, marking the 35th anniversary of the country's proclamation of independence. The event is scheduled for August 27 in Chisinau's Great National Assembly Square.
Over 2,000 participants, including members of the National Army, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and various security services, have participated in the first joint rehearsals under the Hâncești road bridge. The parade will feature more than 100 units of military and special technical equipment. Additionally, 150 veterans of the War for Independence and Territorial Integrity of the Republic of Moldova will participate in the ceremony.
Organizers have scheduled further rehearsals, including a technical exercise with military equipment on August 13. The total cost for organizing the independence anniversary festivities is estimated at 10 million lei.
