Netherlands faces potential heat wave with temperatures up to 35 °C next week

The Dutch weather forecast predicts a possible official heat wave next week, which would be the second of the year. Meteorological services Buienradar and Weeronline expect temperatures to rise to 30 °C–35 °C, with some locations possibly exceeding 35 °C. The heat is expected to be accompanied by dry conditions, as significant rainfall is not forecasted.

The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) notes that an official heat wave requires at least five consecutive days above 25 °C, with three of those days reaching 30 °C. The first heat wave of the year occurred in June and lasted twelve days. Regional forecasts already show several heat spikes, and the upcoming weekend is described as “very summer‑like” with temperatures around 30 °C–32 °C in the interior.

Overall, the outlook points to a warm, dry spell that could affect health and daily activities across the country.
