Poland ranks sixth largest economy in the EU in 2025

Poland is the sixth‑largest economy in the European Union for 2025, with a nominal gross domestic product of €922.9 billion, representing 4.9 % of the bloc’s total output. Only Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands have larger economies.

The country is also the biggest economy in Central and Eastern Europe, more than twice the size of Romania’s economy and considerably larger than those of the Czech Republic and Hungary. Eurostat data show the EU’s combined GDP at about €18.8 trillion in 2025.

An International Monetary Fund report projects that Poland will overtake Switzerland and become the world’s 20th‑largest economy by 2028.
