Polish space companies secure major international contracts

Creotech Instruments has signed a strategic agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) to lead the SAWA mission. Valued at 13.9 million euros, this marks the first time a Polish entity will be responsible for the comprehensive execution of an ESA project, including satellite construction, system integration, launch preparation, and orbital operations. The mission aims to monitor space weather and solar activity to protect critical navigation, communication, and energy infrastructure.

Separately, Scanway signed a non-binding memorandum with US-based Ethereal Space. This partnership aims to position Scanway to participate in multispectral imaging orders within the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) SBEM program. The ProTech 2.0 contracting mechanism used by NOAA has a total limit of 8 billion USD over a potential ten-year period, though Scanway’s involvement remains in the early stages.
