Romania and Hungary advance major transport infrastructure projects

Romania and Hungary are advancing several major infrastructure projects involving road and rail networks. In Romania, the government has approved technical indicators for the 9.3 billion lei Brașov-Făgăraș highway and a 10.49 billion lei railway modernization project for the Ilva Mică–Pojorâta section. Other regional developments include a 17.3 million lei tourism investment in Baia de Fier, a 60 million lei aquapark project in Buziaș, and the rehabilitation of the Opera Bridge in Bucharest. Additionally, construction is progressing on the Sibiu-Făgăraș highway and the DJ301 road in Ilfov.

In Hungary, the modernization of the Cluj-Napoca–Oradea railway line is underway, with varying completion rates across its four sections. Furthermore, work has concluded on the Szeged-Röszke railway line and its new delta branch, which is expected to improve international freight traffic and reduce travel times between Szeged and Vojvodina by 30–40 minutes.
