Slovakia political polls show tight race between Smer and PS
Recent political polling in Slovakia indicates a highly competitive landscape between the leading parties, Smer-SD and Progresívne Slovensko (PS), as the country approaches future elections.
According to an Ipsos survey, PS and Smer are in a near-deadlock, with PS holding 18.1% and Smer at 17.9%. Another poll from the Center for Social Research at INFOSTAT shows a slightly different margin, placing Smer ahead at 20.4% and PS at 18.6%, a 1.8 percentage point difference.
Other notable results include Republika in third place with approximately 10.9% in the Ipsos model, and SaS showing significant growth in the INFOSTAT poll, reaching 9.8%. The polls suggest that if parliamentary elections were held now, opposition parties could secure a majority of seats, potentially allowing PS to form a government with the support of Igor Matovič’s Slovensko movement.
