Turkish textile exports rise in Bursa and Mersin

Turkish textile and ready-to-wear export hubs in Bursa and Mersin reported significant activity for July.

In Bursa, the Uludağ Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association (UHKİB) reported July exports of $91 million, an increase from the same month last year. Women's outerwear led this segment with $55.8 million in sales. While Bursa's total exports for the first seven months reached $512.2 million, this figure is slightly lower than the $526.6 million recorded during the same period last year. The Netherlands emerged as the top export destination for Bursa in July, accounting for $32.6 million, followed by Spain and Germany.

Meanwhile, Mersin experienced a sharp rise in ready-to-wear exports, which grew by 163% year-on-year to reach $50.1 million in July. This represents a monthly growth of approximately 30% compared to June. Industry representatives noted that Mersin is becoming one of Turkey's fastest-growing production centers, leveraging its port infrastructure and logistics to serve European markets such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain, as well as growing demand from the Middle East and Turkic republics.
