Italy wins 100th FIM Six Days Enduro in Portugal
Overview
The 100th edition of the FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Portugal’s Alentejo region concluded with Italy securing a historic double victory. The Italian national team claimed both the World Trophy and the Junior World Trophy, marking the first time in the competition’s history that a nation has won both categories in consecutive years.
In the individual overall classification, Andrea Verona took first place, finishing 32 seconds ahead of Spain’s Josep Garcia. The Italian Trophy team, composed of Verona, Morgan Lesiardo, Samuele Bernardini, and Matteo Cavallo, successfully defended their title, finishing with a time of 12h28’’. They led France, who finished as runner-up, by 3’33’’, followed by Sweden in third and Spain in fifth.
In the Junior World Trophy, the Italian trio of Alberto Elgeri, Manuel Verzoli, and Kevin Christino also defended their title despite facing various injuries throughout the week. The United States secured second place in the junior category, ahead of Spain, Australia, and the Czech Republic.
The United States achieved a historic result by winning the MOTOREX Women’s World Trophy for the fourth consecutive year. The event concluded with a motocross special at Praia Vasco da Gama.
