2026 National Popular Games in Baja California Sur

Overview

Preparations for the 2026 National Popular Games (Juegos Nacionales Populares) are underway in Baja California Sur. The Baja California Sur Sports Institute (INSUDE) announced that the state stage for the 6x6 football tournament will be held from September 11 to 13 at the ‘El Piojillo’ Sports Center, featuring teams from five municipalities: Mulegé, Loreto, Comondú, La Paz, and Los Cabos.

In Tijuana, approximately 100 young athletes have been selected to represent the municipality in the state stage. This delegation includes 15 boxers, 60 football players, and 25 martial arts competitors. These athletes are scheduled to compete on September 5 at the Tijuana High Performance Center. Winners from the state stages are expected to advance to the national stage in Veracruz, which is scheduled for November 4 to 13.
