2026 progressive metal album releases

Overview

In early July 2026, Italian metal band TEMPERANCE announced a new tarot‑themed record titled Arcani.

Later that month, the international progressive‑metal collective TEMIC, which includes members from groups such as Devin Townsend, Shattered Fortress, and Haken, revealed details of its sophomore album Ceiba, scheduled for release on 2 October 2026 via Season of Mist. The concept album explores themes of loss and mortality, utilizing the symbolism of the Ceiba tree as an axis‑mundi linking earth, heaven, and the underworld. Recording for the project took place at Lionheart Studio in Oslo, Norway.

To promote the upcoming release, TEMIC has released two singles. The first, “Ceased to Be”, features a music video filmed on the Yucatán Peninsula with a Mayan death‑god motif. The second single, “Broken”, was described by vocalist Fredrik Klemp as being built on “overwhelming emotion and honesty”. The band plans to perform new material during a 2026 European headline tour, which will feature special guests Kingcrow.
