Trabzonspor 59th anniversary celebrations

In early August 2026, Turkish club Trabzonspor commemorated its 59th founding anniversary and the 50th anniversary of its first Süper Lig title with a series of public events in Trabzon and abroad.

The opening festivities on Ganita Beach featured torch‑lit marches, horon dances, club anthems and fireworks, attended by President Zeyyat Kafkas, Technical Director Fatih Tekke, Divan Chairman Mahmut Ören and former players. A parallel ceremony at the pre‑season camp in Schladming, Austria, included a cake‑cutting for players and staff.

A citywide thank‑you ceremony followed, beginning at the Ziya Bey facilities, moving through Meydan Park for a wreath‑laying, and ending at Papara Park. The “Bordo‑Mavi Fener Alayı” fan parade drew tens of thousands from the city centre to Ganita, showcasing the club’s heritage and supporter unity.

After the events, the Divan Presidency Board issued a formal thank‑you message to protocol members, former ministers, the provincial governor, members of parliament and local mayors, naming figures such as former Youth and Sports Minister Faruk Nafiz Özak, former Transport Minister Burhan Cahit Turhan, Governor Tahir Şahin and Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç. Club officials—including President Ertuğrul Doğan, Vice‑President Zeyyat Kafkas, General Secretary Sami Karaman and other board members—were also acknowledged for their support.
