SanDisk storage product launches

Overview

SanDisk has expanded its storage product offerings with the introduction of several new hardware lines. Initially, the company launched its third-generation (V3) portable SSD lineup in Japan, which includes the Extreme PRO, Extreme, and standard Portable SSD models. These devices utilize USB4 and USB 3.2 technologies to provide varying read speeds and durability ratings, though pricing has increased compared to previous generations.

Following this, SanDisk announced the Sentinel storage series and new network-attached storage (NAS) solutions. The Sentinel series is designed for high-durability needs, such as smart home security cameras and dashcams, featuring high-temperature and humidity resistance. This lineup includes Sentinel dashcam microSD cards capable of supporting up to 4K resolution, Sentinel security monitoring microSD cards for all-weather outdoor use, and a compact USB-C flash drive for vehicle monitoring systems. In the NAS sector, the company released the NAS 600 SATA SSD, available in capacities from 500GB to 4TB with a 2.25 million hour mean time before failure (MTBF), and the high-performance NAS 800 NVMe SSD. The latter utilizes the M.2 2280 form factor and supports PCIe Gen5, offering sequential read speeds up to 14.9GB/s and capacities up to 7.68TB.

Further expanding its portfolio, SanDisk launched the 520 and 320 SATA SSDs in India. The 520 SATA SSD, aimed at IT professionals and content creators, utilizes 3D NAND technology and offers up to 560 MB/s read speeds and a 1,000 Terabytes Written (TBW) endurance rating. The 320 SATA SSD is intended for mainstream computing as a replacement for mechanical hard drives, offering sequential read speeds of up to 545 MB/s. Most recently, the company introduced the Optimus GX PRO 850X, an NVMe M.2 SSD designed for PC gamers and content creators.
