Fatal road accidents in India

Overview

Multiple fatal road accidents involving motorcycles have been reported across various regions in India.

In late September, two separate incidents occurred in Amravati and Tonk. In Amravati, a motorcyclist died after hitting an unmarked speed breaker on the Amravati-Paratwada main road. In Tonk, a head-on collision between a speeding trolley and a motorcycle on the Jaipur-Kota National Highway resulted in a fatality.

In mid-October, two additional accidents resulted in five deaths. In Siliguri, West Bengal, a collision between a motorcycle and a scooter at a bridge crossing killed two people. In Surat, Gujarat, a motorcycle carrying four passengers crashed into a safety wall on a railway overbridge, causing them to fall 50 feet; three people died in the incident.

In these cases, local residents and investigators have highlighted concerns regarding excessive speed, inadequate infrastructure, and a lack of proper road markings or safety railings.
