South Korean medical AI development partnerships
Overview
South Korean companies and medical institutions are increasingly collaborating to advance medical AI transformation (AX).
KT and Acryl have entered a memorandum of understanding to standardize fragmented medical data across hospitals. This partnership seeks to combine cloud and data infrastructure with medical data platforms to develop AI services for clinical practice, research, and hospital operations.
In a separate initiative, AITRICS and Kangbuk Samsung Hospital are working to implement Large Language Model (LLM) solutions. Supported by the Seoul AI Hub, this project focuses on automating hospital administration and medical record tasks, such as summarizing outpatient records, condensing imaging reports, and using Speech-to-Text technology to assist nursing workflows.
