Anaconda sightings in Brazil

Reports of large anaconda encounters have emerged across different regions of Brazil. In the Pantanal, an anaconda entered a tourist boat on the Paraguai Mirim River during a trip between Porto Esperança and Serra do Amolar. While the encounter was described as intimidating, the animal was removed to allow the tour to continue.

In other regions, sightings have involved larger specimens. In Caldas Novas, Goiás, firefighters from the Military Fire Brigade of Goiás (CBMGO) captured a 4.5-meter yellow anaconda (Eunectes notaeus) in the Lagoa Quente sector. The reptile was located in a stream near a residence after it had captured a domestic animal and was preparing to feed. The operation was prompted by resident concerns regarding the predator's proximity to homes where children and pets circulate. The snake was transported to the Center for Triage and Rehabilitation of Wild Animals (CETRAS) for care. Biologist Edson Abrao noted that the snake is a non-venomous constrictor and that the presence of such a specimen indicates a healthy ecological balance in the region.

Additionally, in Mato Grosso, a massive anaconda estimated at 7 meters long was filmed at the Municipal Lake of Itaúba. Experts have advised the public to maintain a safe distance from these non-venomous constrictors and to contact authorities during such encounters.
