Motorsport events in Italy

Overview

In mid-October, motorsport activities in Italy included the “Go Kart - La corsa di Brio” event at the Circuito di Siena, which introduced new categories for female participants and supported health initiatives through LILT. During this period, Ferrari also began intensive simulations and testing for the 499P in preparation for the World Endurance Championship.

By early November, Italy became the host for two major FIA championships. The FIA Karting World Championship for OK and Junior categories was held at the Circuito Internazionale La Conca, having been relocated to Italy due to geopolitical tensions in Bahrain. Concurrently, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza hosted the 6 Hours of Monza, the season finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship, which decided titles in the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories.

During the qualifying sessions for the Monza finale, Antonio Fuoco claimed pole position for Ferrari in the #50 AF Corse Ferrari 499P with a time of 1:33.364, narrowly beating Mathieu Jaminet in the #19 Genesis Magma Racing GMR-001. As the track dried following previous wet practice sessions, Ferrari showed strength with Antonio Giovinazzi starting in fourth. Conversely, championship contenders Toyota faced setbacks, as both entries failed to reach the Hyperpole session, leaving them to start from 15th and 16th positions. In the LMGT3 class, Hadrien David secured pole position for the #78 Akkodis ASP Lexus RC F.

The weekend concluded with the 6 Hours of Monza, which decided the remaining driver and manufacturer titles. While Toyota had already secured the Manufacturers' title in the Hypercar category, the Drivers' title remained a contested battle between the #7 and #8 Toyota crews. Additionally, the Signatech team faced uncertainty regarding its future in the Hypercar class, as it sought a new manufacturer partnership following the end of its involvement with Alpine and Geely before the November 23rd entry deadline.
