2026‑27 English football kit launches
Entities: Club Atlético River Plate · Hummel · AFC Bournemouth
Overview
The 2026‑27 kit unveiling season opened on 10 June 2026 with Newcastle United’s sponsor‑free black‑and‑white home shirt from Adidas. Early releases included Burnley’s claret kit with Finotive One, NEC Nijmegen’s graffiti‑style jersey and Peterborough United’s black away shirt with rose‑gold details.
AFC Bournemouth returned to Vitality as principal sponsor on 10 July, unveiling a red‑and‑black striped home kit by Hummel. The bright‑pink Vitality logo drew considerable fan backlash, with calls for a cleaner gold‑text version. Clyde FC, partnered with technical supplier Terrace, revealed a black home shirt featuring a subtle River Clyde pattern, red cuffs and collar, and a white away shirt with a bold black‑red band and the club’s founding year, 1877.
Later in July, Brentford FC announced a two‑year home kit for the 2026‑28 seasons made by Joma. The design keeps the classic red‑white stripes, adds honey‑yellow accents, and introduces Indeed as front‑of‑shirt sponsor and Cazoo on the sleeves. The club pledged price stability and a sustainability focus for the two‑year kit cycle.
On 29 July, AFC Bournemouth revealed its 2026‑27 away kit, the first shirt produced under its new long‑term partnership with Danish brand Hummel. The kit features a bold purple base overlaid with an all‑over geometric pattern, a white Hummel logo, a monochrome club crest and pink Vitality as front sponsor, plus a hidden “AFCB” graphic for supporters. In the same release window, Argentine side River Plate introduced a completely new typeface for its 2026‑27 jerseys, using sharper, angular lettering on a solid black background with a thin white outline, signalling a modern and aggressive visual direction.
