2027 French presidential election polling

Overview

David Lisnard, the Mayor of Cannes and leader of the Nouvelle Énergie party, has experienced a significant rise in polling for the 2027 French presidential election. Initial data from an Ifop-Fiducial poll showed his voting intentions increasing from 3.5% to 6% over a two-week period, driven largely by a viral social media presence and the hashtag ‘#ilsepassequelquechose’.

As the race progresses, Lisnard has entered into a competition for right-wing leadership with Bruno Retailleau, the leader of Les Républicains. Both candidates have seen their voter intentions oscillate between 6.5% and 9%. While Retailleau maintains influence among the traditional right-wing electorate, Lisnard has seen a rapid increase in public recognition; Ifop director Frédéric Dabi noted that three-quarters of French citizens now know Lisnard, up from one-third earlier in the summer.

Although the two candidates share similar policy platforms regarding budgetary savings and pension capitalization, they appeal to different bases. Retailleau draws from traditional conservative circles, whereas Lisnard attracts supporters from the presidential camp, Éric Zemmour, and Marine Le Pen.
