A2A has released territorial sustainability reports detailing the company’s economic and environmental impact across different Italian regions.

In the Valtellina and Valchiavenna regions, the company reported generating between 78 and 80 million euros in local economic value during 2025. This figure includes 55 million euros in hydroelectric concession fees and over 15 million euros in investments, a 31% increase from 2024. A2A’s 21 hydroelectric plants produced 2,760 GWh of renewable energy and is testing autonomous underwater robots to improve reservoir maintenance efficiency.

Regarding the Milan area, A2A’s 2025 plans include investing over 600 million euros in infrastructure and services, a 24% year-on-year increase. Of this amount, 250 million euros is dedicated specifically to electrical networks to support decarbonization and electrification. The company expects to distribute 1.3 billion euros across the Milan territory through supplier orders, labor costs, dividends, taxes, and concessions. Since 2016, cumulative investments in the Milan region have exceeded 3 billion euros.

To support these operations, A2A reported 900 new permanent hires, primarily targeting workers under the age of 40. CEO Renato Mazzoncini noted that since 2023, the company has offered retail and SME contracts based exclusively on renewables, utilizing fixed-price models to protect customers from fossil fuel price fluctuations and geopolitical volatility.
