AAP political challenges to BJP regarding education and law
Overview
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders have leveled several accusations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding constitutional protections and educational infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab.
In Uttar Pradesh, MP Sanjay Singh accused the Yogi Adityanath government of threatening the Indian Constitution and attempting to end reservation benefits, specifically alleging that backward classes were deprived of rights during the recruitment of 69,000 teachers. Singh also raised concerns regarding five primary schools in the Jaunpur district. He claimed that while these institutions—including Dhalgarh Tola, Misirpur, Gagan Arjani, Urdu Bazar, and Bagh Hasin—are listed as active on the U-DISE portal, they no longer physically exist because the buildings were rented and subsequently reclaimed by landlords. Singh demanded that FIRs be registered and offered a ₹1 lakh reward for anyone who could locate one of the “missing” schools.
In Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal challenged the BJP to provide a list of 1,000 government schools in Gujarat for comparative inspection, asserting that Punjab has significantly improved its educational standing and completed improvements in approximately 19,200 of its 19,700 state schools.
