Aboitiz Power renewable energy and community projects
Overview
Aboitiz Power has undertaken several renewable energy and community-focused initiatives in the Philippines. In late July 2026, the company began construction on the 239-MW Luna Solar Power Plant in Negros Occidental, which is expected to be active by 2028 and will include a 65-MW battery energy storage system. Additionally, the company installed a hybrid solar system and satellite internet at Mangumihay Elementary School in Agusan del Norte as part of the AuroraPH initiative.
By late August 2026, the focus expanded to environmental sustainability through Project BRIDGES, a collaboration between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau Region III and various stakeholders. This initiative aims to improve Materials Recovery Facilities in Central Luzon. As part of this project, Aboitiz Power Renewables Inc., alongside other energy companies, pledged a 10-kilowatt solar power system for Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Pampanga.
