Academic funding and scholarship initiatives in South Cone
Overview
Academic and research institutions in Chile and Argentina have introduced various scholarship and funding initiatives.
In Chile, the CChC Foundation launched the Academic Excellence Scholarships program to support children of construction sector workers through tuition coverage. Additionally, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile opened nominations for its ‘Huella UC’ program to recognize alumni for social impact. Furthering academic support, the National Research and Development Agency (ANID) and the Fulbright Commission established the Fulbright-ANID BIO Doctoral Scholarship, which enables Chilean citizens to pursue doctoral studies in the United States, specifically targeting those from backgrounds with limited access to higher education.
In Argentina, the FAPyD announced a $14,000,000 funding call for directors of ongoing research projects under the UNR Science, Technology, and Arts Strengthening Program to promote scientific dissemination and training.
