In late July 2026 Singapore Airlines announced it would increase its Adelaide‑Singapore service from ten to twelve flights per week starting 25 October, adding 1,328 seats weekly. China Southern Airlines also said it would raise its Adelaide‑Guangzhou frequency to daily flights from 1 December 2026 through 10 March 2027, contributing another 1,064 seats per week. These schedule upgrades marked the first year‑round 12‑flight weekly service out of Adelaide and expanded the city’s connectivity to Asian and European hubs.

A week later, Adelaide was highlighted as one of the world’s three fastest‑growing international business‑travel destinations in the American Express Trendex report. The ranking cited the recent aviation developments—including United Airlines’ inaugural nonstop San Francisco‑Adelaide service launched in December 2025 and the expanded Singapore Airlines and China Southern routes—as key drivers of a surge in corporate travel spending and broader economic benefits for the region.
