Adult education initiatives in Yucatán

Overview

In southern Yucatán, the Instituto de Educación para los Adultos de Yucatán (Ieaey) issued literacy, primary, and secondary education certificates to more than 400 residents in Tekax.

Ieaey Director General Gladys Uc Echeverría noted that the state has improved its national standing regarding educational lag, moving from 29th to 16th place. Gerardo Molina Álvarez, representing the Instituto Nacional para la Educación de los Adultos (INEA), stated that Yucatán currently holds first place nationally in meeting its educational goals, having doubled its 2025 results.
