ADX Energy gas exploration in Austria

Overview

ADX Energy has reported progress in gas exploration at its HOCH-1 shallow gas well in Upper Austria. Initial Phase 1 testing of the Hall zone produced water-free gas at an average flow rate of 2.7 MMCFPD. Subsequent testing, which commingled Zones 2, 3, 4, and 5, achieved an increased average flow rate of 3.15 MMCFPD.

Three additional zones have flowed water-free gas, which the company indicates increases confidence in the site’s commercial potential. Reprocessed 3D seismic data suggests significant lateral extensions of sand bodies, potentially indicating that deeper, untested zones are also gas-filled. Phase 2 testing is planned to target deeper Hall Channel sand zones.
