Adyen executive leadership appointments

Overview

The Dutch payment service provider Adyen has announced several key leadership changes. In August 2026, the company appointed Nicole Olbe as President for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, effective September 1, 2026. Olbe, who previously held senior roles at Barclaycard and Verifone, succeeds Alexa von Bismarck, who transitioned to a global role as Senior Vice President of Global Account Management.

Following this, Adyen announced the appointment of Niclas Neglen as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Neglen, who has served as CFO at Klarna since March 2021, is scheduled to officially assume his new position on February 1, 2027. Neglen is expected to join Adyen’s statutory management board subject to regulatory and shareholder approval. Co-Founder and Co-CEO Pieter van der Does noted that Neglen’s experience aligns with the company’s “current growth phase and strategic needs.”

Prior to his time at Klarna, Neglen held leadership positions at HSBC Private Bank and spent 13 years at General Electric. During the transition period, Hwa Tsao, Adyen’s senior vice president of group finance, will serve as interim CFO before returning to her previous role. These leadership shifts occur as Adyen expands its enterprise payment services, having processed 803.8 billion euros in payments during the first half of 2026.
