African motorsport talent development initiative

Overview

WORR Motorsport and Karting Africa have announced a new continental initiative to develop future Formula One talent through the Karting Africa Cup. This five-round championship is planned for 2027 and has received support from the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

As a precursor to the championship, an international Karting Showrun is scheduled for October 10 and 11, 2026, in Benguela, Angola. The event is expected to feature 39 drivers from various African nations.

In preparation for this event, Team Ghana has announced its international motorsport debut. The three-driver delegation, led by senior driver Jihad Armand and junior drivers Khloé Kusi-Asomah and Ezra Stephens, will participate in the Angola showrun. Auto Racing Ghana (ARG) is also working toward developing FIA-standard tracks within Ghana and is scheduled to host a Karting Africa Showrun in 2027.
