Agricultural development in Dak Lak province
Overview
Agricultural, forestry, and fishery sectors in Dak Lak, Vietnam, are experiencing significant growth and modernization. Local farmers are adopting integrated business models, such as combining agricultural supply sales with technical consulting and diversifying into poultry, forestry, and hybrid wild boar husbandry. Scientific research, particularly by female researchers, is contributing to digital transformation and improved productivity through studies on rice plant bacteria.
By the first nine months of 2026, the province reported a 5.98% growth rate in these sectors, surpassing both provincial targets and the previous national average. Large-scale production remains centered on coffee, durian, and fruit trees. While the sector serves as a critical economic stabilizer, it continues to face challenges from natural disasters, unpredictable weather, and diseases. Development has been further supported by simplified government policies regarding packaging facilities and planting area codes, which have helped expand export markets for seafood and durian.
