Agricultural innovation and education in Slovakia

Overview

Slovakia has introduced several initiatives aimed at modernizing the agricultural sector through education and technological testing. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development launched the ‘Agriwow’ project to attract students in grades 7 through 9 to agricultural, food, and forestry studies. Concurrently, the European Commission adopted a strategic research and innovation approach for agriculture, forestry, and food systems. This broader EU strategy integrates the AgRI 2040 and Food 2040 frameworks to better connect researchers and startups with farmers for real-world technology demonstration.
