AI and Open Finance integration in Brazil

The Brazilian banking sector is undergoing a structural transformation driven by Open Finance regulations and the integration of Artificial Intelligence. Under Central Bank oversight, the shift toward consumer-owned data is increasing interoperability and competition between traditional banks and fintech companies.

Major financial institutions are responding to this shift with significant technology investments. A 2026 survey by Deloitte indicates that 92% of surveyed banks view Open Finance as a major opportunity for data access. To leverage these datasets, Brazilian banks are projected to invest approximately R$3 billion in AI, analytics, and big data, representing an 8% increase from the prior year.

Fintech startups are also advancing specialized AI applications. The startup Decade recently emerged from stealth mode following an $85 million seed funding round, aiming to provide an AI-driven platform for investments and financial planning. Additionally, new AI agents have been introduced to automate wealth management processes, including client onboarding and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for complex international structures.
