AI and semiconductor industry growth trends

Overview

The semiconductor and AI infrastructure sectors continue to experience significant growth driven by rising demand for AI servers and data centers. MSI reported strong financial results for the first half of the year, achieving a record second-quarter gross margin of nearly 16% and an EPS of 7.59 TWD. The company is focusing on the AI Agent market by integrating NVIDIA architectures into its XpertStation WS300 supercomputers and EdgeXpert platforms to optimize performance and reduce costs. Concurrently, power infrastructure provider Anbao reported an order backlog of nearly 15 billion TWD, with visibility extending through 2028. Anbao’s orders are split between domestic projects (60%) and overseas markets (40%), including the US and Germany. To support this, Anbao plans to expand capacity in Tainan, break ground on a new facility in the Pingtung Science Park in 2027, and establish a subsidiary in Singapore. Pegatron and Diodes Incorporated have also reported substantial revenue increases linked to AI server expansion. Pegatron saw an 84 percent year-on-year surge in its computing segment, which now accounts for approximately 23 percent of its total revenue. Diodes Incorporated reported its sixth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, with Q2 revenue rising 21.7 percent year-over-year, and expects growth to accelerate to 30 percent in Q3. This demand has fueled significant stock growth across the global supply chain. French company Soitec reported a 414.5% increase in share price, while Austrian firm AT&S saw shares rise by 343.5% due to production of advanced substrates. Other notable performers include Germany’s AIXTRON, which grew by 121%. Expanding on this trend, Hanmin Test reported that its revenue from January to July 2026 reached NT$2.668 billion, a 128.18% year-on-year increase, already surpassing its total 2025 revenue. General Manager Wang Tzu-chien noted that increasing chip power consumption and density have heightened testing complexity.
