AI integration in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Overview

Artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing various professional sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina, prompting discussions on responsible implementation and the necessity of human oversight.

In the media and academic sectors, officials have highlighted the need for journalists to maintain rigorous fact-checking and professional responsibility despite the rapid pace of technological change. In education, focus has turned to how AI affects learning and the potential gap between students who can critically engage with the technology and those who cannot.

Expanding into the financial sector, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has identified opportunities to use AI for economic data analysis, risk assessment, and improving monetary policy transmission. Jasmina Selimović, Governor of the Central Bank, emphasized that AI should serve as a support for experts to facilitate higher-quality decisions rather than acting as a replacement for human judgment, experience, and knowledge.
