AI integration in pharmaceutical development and commerce

Developments in the pharmaceutical industry highlight the growing role of artificial intelligence in both drug discovery and commercial operations.

Pathos AI announced significant expansion of its oncology pipeline through two major agreements. The company entered a $125 million upfront deal with Alphamab Oncology for worldwide rights to develop and commercialize the bispecific antibody-drug conjugate JSKN016, a therapy for triple-negative breast cancer. Additionally, Pathos AI partnered with AstraZeneca to lead early clinical development of AZD4241, an oral PROTAC targeting estrogen receptors in certain breast cancers. Both assets were identified using the company’s proprietary AI platform, Foundry.

In a separate development, London-based startup Pharosyn secured $3 million in funding led by Moonfire. While many AI tools focus on drug discovery, Pharosyn specializes in AI infrastructure for the commercial side of the pharmaceutical industry, assisting executives with market analysis, portfolio strategy, and competitive intelligence.
