AI integration in Wix web development
Overview
A report from Wix titled ‘State of Websites’ indicates that the integration of artificial intelligence has halved the average time required to publish a website, reducing the duration from eight days to four. Industry-specific data shows significant speed improvements for restaurant, e-commerce, and beauty websites.
While AI handles approximately 80% of the work, human involvement remains essential for brand identity, with most users rewriting AI-generated copy or replacing stock images.
Wix has subsequently launched an AI-driven website builder and an AI agent named Aria. This tool allows users to generate business-ready sites from text descriptions through a process Wix calls ‘vibe coding,’ where custom components are created via natural language prompts. The platform utilizes a hybrid approach, combining manual drag-and-drop editing with AI-driven commands.
