Airbnb has introduced a car rental service in Brazil, expanding its operations to more than 300 cities. The service covers all state capitals and major tourist destinations, including Fernando de Noronha, Jericoacoara, Porto Seguro, and Maragogi. Users can access rentals through the platform’s app without needing a prior accommodation reservation.

The service is managed through partnerships with rental providers and CarTrawler. To drive adoption, Airbnb is offering promotional incentives, such as up to 20% of the rental value in credit for a user’s first eligible booking, capped at US$ 200 or the local equivalent. Some suppliers may also provide automatic discounts of up to 20% during payment.

This expansion follows significant growth in the Brazilian market, where nights reserved by Brazilian travelers increased by over 30% year-on-year in the second quarter of the previous year.
