Ajax player Abdellah Ouazane performance and transfer status

Overview

Seventeen-year-old Ajax talent Abdellah Ouazane has seen recent success in the Eredivisie, attributing his scoring ability to tactical preparation and the study of opposing goalkeeper movements. Following a goal against Atalanta, Ouazane scored in a 1-2 victory over Sparta Rotterdam, noting that analyzing video footage helped him refine his finishing. He specifically credited studying goalkeeper Michael Brouwer’s movements and receiving encouragement from teammate Steven Berghuis for his improved approach.

His performances have drawn significant interest from major European clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Juventus. While Ajax is attempting to secure the Moroccan international with a contract extension beyond 2028, negotiations have faced challenges. Reports indicate that Ouazane’s representatives are seeking annual wages between €4 million and €5 million, a demand that Ajax sporting director Jordi Cruyff is reportedly hesitant to meet due to the club’s salary structure.

Football analysts and coaches have recently praised the winger. FC Midtjylland coach Mike Tullberg identified Ouazane as a standout talent proficient in one-on-one situations. Additionally, analyst Ronald de Boer described the player as “phenomenal,” citing his mental strength and self-critical nature as key assets. De Boer predicted that a major transfer is likely if Ouazane maintains his current performance level for another two years.
